Marbles #1- 7x10- water soluble colored pencils
For this artwork, I made sure I got a good composition with strong shadows and highlights. The interesting shapes of shadows and highlights created by the light shining through helped portray my concept.

Cup of water- 7x10- pencil
For this artwork, I used a glass cup that had and interest pattern in it and filled it with water. When shining light through it, it made a cool highlight on the surface.

Lightbulb- 9x12- white charcoal on black paper
I was inspired by a lightbulb I found in the house for this artwork. When shining light through it, there was this strange pattern of light and I thought it would be interesting to do with white charcoal.

Necklace- 9x12- white charcoal/pencil on brown paper
For this artwork, I took a picture of a necklace that I made. I opened up the locket and used a flashlight to shine through it and it made a really interesting pattern in the highlights. I decide to use brown paper because I could use pencil for the dark values and white charcoal for the highlights and it would make a nice contrast.
